New FlowCon SME low-flow

FlowCon now introduces the popular FlowCon SME Cartridge in a new version:

• SME low-flow (SME.0).

This means that the SME will now cover flow rates from 40-1200 l/hr (0.176-5.28 GPM) in two pressure ranges starting from 16 kPaD (2.3 psid) perfect for any cooling or heating fan-coil unit application.
The SME Cartridge is also suitable for applications with air-handler units and other terminal unit - wherever dynamic balancing and fully accurate temperature control is required. It is the easy solution to both designers, installers and end-users due to its user- friendly complete solution in an optional valve body with a exchangeable cartridge.

The FlowCon SME Cartridge is designed as a 2-in-1 solution combining a full stroke modulation control valve with an automatic balancing valve being differential pressure independent. This new cartridge includes an innovative self-adjustment feature which enables each valve continuously to self-balance. This ensures delivery of precisely the flow rate required by each terminal unit, independent of pressure fluctuations in the hydronic system. Each FlowCon SME Cartridge can also be adjusted to set an accurate maximum flow rate limit to each circuit.

100% Valve Authority
The FlowCon SME is a pressure independent flow control valve with 100% authority which instantaneously self-balance at all points of operation, even when there is variance in pressure differential.

As long as the pressure differential across the valve is within the operating range, the Kv (Cv) of the valve is variable, being continuously regulated to keep the control valve in constant authority. The SME Cartridge will always use full stroke of the spindle offering no dead band and 100% authority for any of its 39 maximum flow settings.
